What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way. We use them in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.
How we use them
Essential: these are needed for the service to work securely, maintain your signed-in session, and remember necessary choices. They do not require consent.
Analytics and marketing: VisonDoc does not currently use Google Analytics, marketing cookies, or advertising cookies. If this changes, optional cookies will not be set until you have made a clear choice.
Essential storage we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Authentication session | Essential cookie or local storage | Keeps an authorised administrator securely signed in. | Until sign-out, expiry, or browser data is cleared |
The exact technical name may vary according to the secure authentication environment.
Managing browser storage
You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Clearing essential authentication storage will sign you out and may prevent the service from working until you sign in again.
